Pop the top on a new campaign with this champagne saber in a wood box! Back to the days of Napoleon, many victories were celebrated by decapitating bottles of bubbly with their swords. The saber was the weapon of choice back then and the whole ritual of celebration has evolved today, and is still used by some to open bottles of champagne. It makes an interesting gift for modern day swashbucklers with a distinguishing feature. Unlike a regular saber, the blade is not sharp. The blunt stainless steel blade is 11 38" long and it also features a brass bolster, rivets and an inlaid wood handle. Traditional Laguiole decor embosses the handle and bolster. The packaging is a beautiful two-piece slide-top wooden box that measures 17 1/2" L x 3-3/4" W.
